Blaze At Mahopac Home Put Out With Help From Neighbors Thanks to quick action from firefighters and help from neighbors, a blaze at a Hudson Valley home was prevented from getting worse. The blaze occurred in Putnam County on Sunday, June 2, when a fire broke out at a residence on West Lake Boulevard in Mahopac near Rockledge Place, according to the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department. Thanks to the help of neighbors who spotted the flames, firefighters quickly arrived at the home and contained the fire to the outside of the building, preventing further damage to the residence.  No injuries were reported in connection to the fire.&nbs…

Leilana Schwartz, of Lovettsville, was behind the wheel of a 1997 Honda Civic when she pulled into the path of a Volvo SUV heading west on Loudoun Street around 1:20 p.m. Saturday, June 1, Virginia State Police said. Man Dies In Roxbury Crash, Prosecutor Says A man was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Roxbury on Friday, May 31, authorities said.  At 10:30 p.m., a 2019 Madza 3 heading southbound and a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado heading northbound were involved in the crash, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said.  The driver of the Madza was pronounced dead at the scene, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said.  The driver of the Silverado was extricated from the vehicle and was transported to Morristown Medical Center with serious injuries, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said.
