Alert Issued For Mount Vernon 15-Year-Old Girl Missing For Week
Authorities in Westchester are asking for the public's help in finding a 15-year-old girl who has been missing for a week.
An alert for Elle Torres, who was last seen on Friday, Feb. 9, was issued by the Mount Vernon Police Department on Friday, Feb. 16.
Torres, who suffers from schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, was last seen wearing a black coat, multicolored hoodie, blue jeans, and red, white, and black sneakers, police said.
She is described as 5-foot-4 and 170 pounds.
Anyone who sees her is asked to call the department at 914-665-2510.

Family Suing Mount Vernon, Police, School Over Cheerleading Stabbing Attack
The family of a cheerleader who was stabbed during an attack at a high school parade event in Westchester that killed her friend plans to sue the city, the school district, and the police department.
Attorney Lauren P. Raysor announced on Friday, June 23 in Mount Vernon, the lawsuit will be filed on behalf of Nicole Duncan, the mother of Mainece Simpson, a student at Mount Vernon High School and a member of the school’s cheerleading team who was stabbed numerous times by a rival cheerleader but survived.

Man Sentenced For Killing Wife During Dispute At Home In Mount Vernon
A man has been sentenced for stabbing his wife to death during a dispute at her Westchester home.
Kirk Fisher, age 60, of the Bronx, was sentenced on Thursday, Sept. 29, to 20 years in state prison for killing his wife Kaya Green, at her Mount Vernon home, said Westchester County District Attorney Miriam Rocah.
“This is a devastating case of domestic violence and we hope the family of Kaya Green has some sense of closure,” Rocah said.
