Bucks Identity Thief Bilked Senior For $33K, Cops Say
An accused thief in Bucks County is charged with ripping off a senior citizen to the tune of $33,000, authorities say.
Justin T. Rose, 33, of Sellersville, surrendered to the Perkasie Borough Police Department on Thursday, Jan. 26, officials wrote in a statement. Investigators say he racked up the debt over a period of years, using the victim's credit cards to make unauthorized purchases and cash transfers.

Search For Missing Bucks Woman Intensifies
Authorities in Bucks County are ramping up their search for a woman they say disappeared more than two weeks ago.
Elizabeth "Beth" Capaldi, 55, of Sellersville, was officially reported missing on Wednesday, Oct. 12 by a family member, said county District Attorney Matt Weintraub in a release.
Capaldi was last spotted on Oct. 10 at her family home on High Street, where she lives with her husband Stephen Capaldi, officials said. Her cell phone, car, and keys were all recovered from the home, but her wallet was apparently taken with her, investigators said.

Philly Man Who Assaulted, Harassed Bucks County Ex-GF Sentenced: DA
A Philadelphia man who assaulted, threatened, and harassed his ex-girlfriend, even while he was imprisoned, was sentenced to 16 ½ to 35 years in state prison, authorities said.
Steven Jeffrey Castner, 41, was convicted by a Bucks County jury in June on two counts each of intimidation of a witness and stalking and one count of attempted burglary, criminal trespassing, terroristic threats, and simple assault, according to the Bucks County District Attorney's Office.

Perkasie PD: Man In Custody After Breaking Into Neighbor's Home With Hammer, Damaging Property
A Perkasie man is in custody after police said he broke into a neighbor's home with a hammer, damaged property, and threatened to harm the owner.
Officers arrested James Berner on April 11 and he was charged with burglary, assault, criminal trespassing, possessing instruments of crime, recklessly endangering another person, terroristic threats, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and harassment, according to Perkasie Borough Police Department.
Berner was arraigned by Judge Armitage and transported to Bucks County Prison after failing to post 10 percent of $100,000 bail.

Bucks County Hunter Surrenders Months After Shooting That Killed 18-Year-Old Jason Kutt
Authorities on Wednesday announced the arrest of a 52-year-old man in the deadly October shooting of 18-year-old Jason Albert Kutt in Nockamixon State Park.
Kenneth Troy Heller, 52, of Warminster, surrendered to authorities on Dec. 30, Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintraub said.
"Clearly this isn’t a perfect ending,” he said. “Perfect would mean we have Jason back. But that’s just not how real life works, that’s not how criminal justice works, so this isn’t even really a happy ending, but it is a fair and a just and a final ending.”
