The Southampton Police Department received a report at approximately 7:50 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12, when after the woman reported the man to be “apparently deceased on the beach.”
Police said that officers responded and described the man as Hispanic and approximately 42 years old.
Detectives determined that the man was not the victim of suspicious activity, though the Suffolk County Medical Examiners and police are continuing the investigation. The cause and movements of the victim prior before being found have not been determined.
Investigators said that the man’s name is being withheld pending the notification of family.
