Pickup Truck Crashes Into Building In Holtsville, Injuring Two Employees

A driver of a pickup truck who suffered a medical emergency crashed into the front of East End Stairs and Railing Inc., in Holtsville, injuring two workers.

The incident took place around 9:40 a.m., Tuesday, July 9, at 194 Morris Ave., Holtsville, Suffolk County Police said.

According to police, the driver of a GMC Sierra pickup truck was in the parking lot of East End Stairs and Railing Inc. when they suffered a medical event and the truck veered into the building.

The driver, who had to be removed from the vehicle by the Holtsville Fire Department, and two workers in the business were transported via ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Fire department personnel also stabilized the building in order to prevent any further damage. Mutual aid was requested from the Holbrook and Farmingville fire departments.

The driver was ticketed for driving with a suspended license. 

The building inspector will evaluate the damage.
