North Amityville Restaurant Shut Down After 5 Workers Charged During SLA Inspection
Five workers at a Long Island restaurant have been charged after a State Liquor Authority inspection overnight which led to the business being shut down.
According to Suffolk County Police, at around 10:45 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, three patrons inside Casa Bella, located in North Amityville at 577 Broadway, were found in possession of cocaine in plain view.
During the investigation, police say unclaimed drugs were also discovered on the floor.

A total of 15 people are now facing charges after an overnight New York State Liquor Authority inspection at a Long Island bar that was overcrowded, police said.
The raid happened around 12:15 a.m. Saturday, March 26 in Port Jefferson, at Curry Club at SaGhar, located at 111 W. Broadway, Suffolk County Police said.

Long Island Store Clerk Accused Of Selling Alcohol, E-Liquid Nicotine To Minors
An employee at a Long Island store is facing charges after police said he sold alcohol and e-liquid nicotine to minors.
Ali Zaman, an employee at J Mart & Smoke Shop in Patchogue, was arrested at about 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 11, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.
SCPD said officers conducted an investigation at the business, located at 580 Route 112, after receiving complaints.
Police said Zaman, age 30, sold e-cigarettes to a person working with SCPD, and he was also seen selling alcohol to minors.

Five Businesses In Area Accused Of Selling Alcohol To Minors
Five local businesses were nabbed for allegedly selling alcohol to minors during a sting operation.
The operation was conducted in Orange County on Wednesday, Sept. 15, by the town of Wallkill Police, along with the town's building department and state Liquor Authority officials.
During the operation, five employees were charged with unlawfully dealing with a child and issued an appearance ticket to appear in court.

Covid-19: Long Island Sees Slight Uptick In Cases, Here's Breakdown By Towns
Long Island has seen a slight uptick in positive COVID-19 cases though statewide numbers continue trending in the right direction.
There have now been 44,924 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nassau, and 45,006 in Suffolk as each county saw less than 100 new cases in the latest numbers provided by the state Department of Health.
There have been 2,198 COVID-19 fatalities in Nassau and 2,005 in Suffolk.
On Long Island, the positive infection rate over the past three days:
Monday, Aug. 31: 1.0 percent;
Tuesday, Sept. 1: 0.8 percent;

Covid-19: New Restrictions Placed On NY Restaurants, Bars
New York has announced new restrictions for restaurants and bars that are open during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The New York State Liquor Authority said that activities such as dancing, karaoke, live entertainment, comedy shows, darts, cornhole, and pool are not allowed at bars and restaurants.
Live music at bars cannot be advertised, all live music must be non-ticketed events and cover charges aren't allowed.
