Holiday Weekend Ends In 29 DUI Arrests In Lehigh Valley Area: State Police
State troopers have released the results of their Memorial Day Holiday traffic enforcement initiative. PSP's Troop M — which includes Bucks, Lehigh, and Northampton counties — said they made 29 DUI arrests between Friday, May 24 and Monday, May 27. That's down from the same holiday weekend in 2023 when troopers made 31 DUI arrests, according to the data. A Lower Towamensing man died days after a car he was riding in crashed in Montour County. Jason Reed was the passenger in a vehicle that wrecked on Ashtown Road in Mahoning Township on Friday, May 24, said the Lehigh County Coroner's Office. He was taken to University Hospital in Bethlehem where he died from complications of multiple traumatic injuries on Tuesday morning, officials said. His manner of death was accidental. Bus Hits Pedestrian In North Philadelphia: SEPTA
One person was hospitalized after being struck by a bus in Philadelphia's Hunting Park on Monday night, May 27. SEPTA said it happened near the corner of 13th Street and Erie Avenue around 9 p.m. The pedestrian was hit by the left side mirror of a Route 56 bus, according to transit officials.
