Bad Crash Closes I-95 In Spotsylvania
A serious crash closed a portion of I-95 in Spotsylvania Saturday morning, May 18. It happened at mile marker 119.8 on the southbound side, however, traffic cameras show emergency vehicles in both lanes, with one SUV facing the opposite direction as of 8 a.m. The north left shoulder, left lane, and center lane are closed.

Lancaster police have charged arrested two men with raping a 16-year-old victim in the city in 1997, one who was an officer tasked with the initial investigation. Andrew Selby, 54, and Roberto Rosario, 44, became the center of an investigation in March 2024, when Detective Sgt. Jessica Higgins was made aware of one alleged incident. Higgins spoke with a victim who detailed violent abuse by Rosario in Lancaster City in late 1997, police said. Small Plane Crash Kills Pilot, Passenger In Culpeper County, State Police Say
A pilot and their passenger were killed in a small plane crash in Culpeper County on Friday, May 17, authorities confirmed. The private aircraft went down on the 13000 block of Spillman Road in Culpeper County just before 2:45 p.m., Virginia State Police said. The pilot and sole occupant died at the scene. Edison Scooter Rider Killed By SUV On Route 1 Survived By Son, Wife, Campaign Says
Support is on the rise for the family of a 22-year-old man struck and killed by a vehicle on Route 1 in Edison. Raul Montoya-Chavez, of Edison, was hit in the southbound center lane of Route 1 at about 1:45 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15 as he tried to cross at Plainfield Avenue, Edison police said. Montoya-Chavez died of his injuries at an area hospital, police said. The 61-year-old Rahway man driving the SUV had a green light and is not expected to be charged, police said. Jersey City Police Cruiser, Civilian Vehicle Damaged, Multiple Victims Injured In Crash
Two Jersey City police officers and at least one civilian were injured in a crash that sent a cruiser into a fire hydrant. The vehicles collided at the intersection of Martin Luther King Drive and Stegman Street at 11:15 a.m. Friday, May 17, according to Jersey City spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione. It wasn't the result of a pursuit, she emphasized. Victims said the collision triggered the police car's airbags. The victims were taken to Jersey City Medical Center with what responders said were all minor injuries. An investigation into the cause was continuing.

Arrest Made In Scranton Man's 'Suspicious Death': Police
One man is in custody after a 36-year-old was killed in Scranton on Tuesday, May 14. Police originally called Benjamin Thompson's Jackson Street death "suspicious" before declaring it a homicide on Thursday morning, May 16. By Thursday night, 24-year-old Rahjuan Marquel Morgan was arrested for criminal homicide and criminal conspiracy, city police said. Third Suspect Busted In Fatal I-391 Shooting In Chicopee
Police have arrested a third person they say was involved in the fatal shooting of Guyton Winspeare on a stretch of I-391 in Holyoke two months ago, authorities said. Miguel Dones, 21, of Springfield, is charged with murder and a slew of drug offenses after police found narcotics and an AR-15-style rifle in his car during a traffic stop, the Hampden District Attorney said. Body Recovered After Person Jumps From Bear Mountain Bridge
A body was recovered after a person jumped from the Bear Mountain Bridge. The incident happened around 1 p.m. Friday, May 17. The body of the victim was recovered from the Hudson River near Stony Point, according to Trooper A.J. Hicks of the New York State Police. The identity of the person has not yet been released. Another Arlington Peeper Arrested
Yet another Peeping Tom has been arrested in Arlington. This one was drunk, too, police said. Curtis Moore, 44, was identified as the man looking into the home of a woman on the 1500 block of Key Boulevard Road around 3:45 a.m. on Friday, May 17, county police said. A lookout was broadcast, and responding officers found Moore, who matched the victim's description of him, police said. Moore was charged with peeping and being drunk in public. Herbert Otey, a serial peeper, and Christopher Sails were arrested in the last few weeks in Arlington, and charged with peeping.

Atlantic City Man Killed Teen In Absecon Hit-And-Run Crash: Police
An Atlantic City man was accused of killing a teen pedestrian in a hit-and-run crash, authorities said. Everette Williams, 52, was arrested on Thursday, May 16, the Absecon Police Department said in a news release. He was facing charges in the deadly crash on Route 30 West on Saturday, Feb. 17. Officers responded to the crash just east of Turner Avenue and near the Executive Lodge motel at around 9 p.m. A 17-year-old boy died from his injuries.
