Men from Maryland and Virginia are among three who have been charged in connection to a string of swatting incidents across the country, federal authorities announced.
This week, a federal grand jury returned an indictment charging Owen Jarboe, 18, of Hagerstown, Evan Strauss, 26, of Moneta, Virginia, and Brayden Grace, 18, of Columbus, Ohio with a host of offenses for making swatting calls to multiple police and emergency departments across the country.

A road trip of two best friends from Pennsylvania to Arizona ended in tragedy in Ohio.
Kamryn Setzer, an Emmaus native, and her best friend, Emily Stevens, had uprooted their lives and were en route to relocate to Arizona, when Stevens lost control of the 2013 Hyundai Elantra on Interstate 70 on Friday, Dec. 1, Columbus police said.
Their vehicle struck a guardrail near the exit to Interstate 71 and North Broad Street on the southbound side of the highway around 10:05 p.m., killing Stevens at the scene, said those who knew her on social media.

Tickets to see comedian Matt Rife on his first ever world tour are in such demand that a Connecticut venue is adding more shows to its lineup.
In a Facebook post Thursday, June 8, Mohegan Sun Area, located in Uncasville in New London County, announced it was adding a “record-breaking FOURTH show” for Rife’s “ProbleMATTic World Tour.”
The 27-year-old comic, who has amassed nearly 18 million followers on TikTok and Instagram, is now set to perform in Connecticut from Thursday, Feb. 22 through Sunday, Feb. 25, 2024.

The FBI arrested two more Trenton protesters, one of whom threw a makeshift Molotov cocktail at police and tried to set fire to a patrol car with two accomplices during an attack captured on video, federal authorities said Thursday.
Kadeem A. Dockery, 29, of Trenton, and Killian F. Melecio, 20, of Columbus were taken into custody Wednesday on federal charges thanks to their distinctive tattoos, which could be seen on social media posts and videos recorded by street cameras, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito said.

More than 25,000 pounds of sausage products are being recalled due to a Listeria scare.
Ezzo Sausage Company, based out of Columbus, Ohio, is recalling approximately 25,115 pounds of sausage products that may be adulterated with Listeria monocytogenes, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced.
The products subject to recall were produced on Tuesday, Oct. 29, Wednesday, Oct. 30 and Tuesday, Nov. 5. The recalled items have the establishment number “EST. 1838A” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

A business manager from Montclair who defrauded his celebrity clients of millions of dollars through investments in a sports drink company has been sentenced to 89 months in prison, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Columbus, Ohio, said last week.
Kevin R. Foster, 43, represented musicians Ne-Yo, who was born Shaffer Smith, and Brian McKnight, the famed R&B singer. Foster convinced Smith to invest $2 million in OXYWater, invested another $1.5 million with Smith’s knowledge and also forged his signature to get a $1.4 million line of credit.
